1 refrigerated unopened barrier tube (1 mL minimum). Spin and separate the serum as soon as possible after clot formation (prefer within 45 minutes after collection). Be sure barrier forms a complete separation between serum and cells. Fasting 8-12 hours required. Avoid hemolysis and lipemia. Serum: Barrier or plain red-top tube, be sure serum is separated from cells within 45 minutes.
