Specimen Management Technicians

Sonora Quest Laboratories processes over 70,000 tests per day and we could not accomplish this without our Specimen Management Technicians. 

Specimen Management Technicians are responsible for preparing all incoming specimens and delivering them to the laboratory for testing. In this role, you would:

• Use your excellent data entry skills to enter and verify patient demographics, physician data, tests requested, time and date of collection, appropriate clinical information and all other pertinent data found on laboratory test request forms.

Prepare biological specimens including pouring off of bodily fluids such as blood and urine. Other bodily fluids, such as saliva and semen are handled in sealed containers. 

This position requires a high school diploma (or equivalent) and a typing speed of at least 25 words per minute with a high accuracy rate. No previous laboratory experience is required for this role but other skills, such as experience in data entry, high attention to detail, and focus on quality are a plus when entering this field. 

Specimen Management Technicians can work a variety of shifts, but the 2nd and 3rd shift are our busiest.
