Expanded COVID-19 Testing for Arizona’s Long-Term Care Facilities with up to 25,000 Tests Planned
Sonora Quest Laboratories has expanded services for COVID-19 diagnostic swab and antibody serology testing at 147 long-term care (LTC) facilities in Arizona, and will conduct up to 25,000 tests statewide. Given the urgency and vulnerability of this patient population and the healthcare staff that serve them, Sonora Quest strategically sought out community partnerships with Arizona Health Care Association (AHCA), the Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS) and the Governor’s office to ramp up testing and help alleviate the strain on the state’s LTC facilities. Sonora Quest will perform testing at their Tempe-based lab. Results will be reported to the facilities directly, as well as to ADHS, and are anticipated to be available within 5 to 7 days from collection.
Assisted Living
Sonora Quest Laboratories is currently expanding our collection services for the long-term care (LTC) facilities in Arizona by ADHS into phase 2 of this testing, by testing at approximately 400 assisted living facilities across the state, with an estimated 4,140 tests to be performed.
CVS MinuteClinic COVID-19 Testing Partnership
In collaboration with Quest Diagnostics, Sonora Quest Laboratories has partnered with CVS Health to launch drive-thru testing for SARS-CoV-2 via their MinuteClinics, using pharmacists to oversee self-collected nasal swab specimens. CVS is now offering drive-thru testing at over 60 locations in Arizona. The collected samples are then sent to Sonora Quest Laboratories to perform testing. The testing efforts are part of a plan at the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to provide temporary drive-thru testing in COVID-19 hot spots. Patients must register in advance at CVS.com to schedule an appointment.
